We loved staying at @kibosafaricamp_amboseli durin We loved staying at @kibosafaricamp_amboseli during our visit to Amboseli National Park. It’s only about 5 mins from the park and our experience there was just so warm and cozy ❤️
Tips for planning your first African Safari! I thi Tips for planning your first African Safari! I think the most important hack is finding a great tour company since they do most of the heavy lifting for you. Once that’s done, you’re all set! 🤗 We loved @africamarveltours
I’m usually not a big shopper when I travel and I’m usually not a big shopper when I travel and especially within Africa, I find a lot of souvenirs to be too similar to each other. But Kenya has been impressive on the shopping front! We’ve been going to hotel gift shops daily and many of them are stocked with products from local artisans.

These are some of the fun animal-based gifts we’ve bought here! It might be cheesy but I always get a magnet for every city/country I visit. My magnets from Kenya and Rwanda are my favorites so far!

What do you like to buy when you travel? Shot glasses? Magnets? Post cards? I’d love to know!

Diani, like many Kenyan towns has a lot of accommo Diani, like many Kenyan towns has a lot of accommodation options. Our goal in this beach town was to RELAX. So we chose a resort and half-board plan (this means breakfast and dinner are complementary).

Diani beach was hugely impacted by the pandemic so many hotels have closed completely and just a few are doing OK. Swahili Beach Resort is thriving. Our friend who’s lived in Diani his whole life said it’s the best resort there so 😉

We loved the customer care, the food was DIVINE here, and the location was just what we needed. You can book on their website. Our stay in a Standard Double cost us $690 for 3 nights (including breakfast & dinner for two). Book in advance—at least a month out.

I’ll be sharing more about the Safari experience, how we booked a tour, how much it costs 💰 and more! What questions do you have? Is a safari trip on your bucket list too?

Some of my favorite Safari pics. The last one made Some of my favorite Safari pics. The last one made my head and heart explode 🥰

As a photographer, a huge part of planning our safari trip was deciding on the right gear to bring. I settled on my Nikon 35 mm Prime lens and a Sigma 100-400 and there were still many times I wished I’d brought maybe a 600.

If these pictures bring you a sense of peace and serenity, it’s because that’s what being on Safari—so close to nature—feels like.

We had the best time at @riuhotels Senegal! If you We had the best time at @riuhotels Senegal! If you’re looking for a five-star resort experience on the continent, this is my top recommendation 🥰

You’ll need to stay a minimum of five days but it’s totally worth it. It’s also inexpensive compared to many all-inclusive resorts. We paid under $2000 for two people, all meals and snacks covered. Would highly recommend!
We spent three days in Saly, Senegal and we loved We spent three days in Saly, Senegal and we loved every minute. Saly is a must-visit if you want to spend some downtime by the beach during your visit to Senegal. It’s a two-hour drive from Dakar and you can use Yango or any taxis from Dakar—just pick a comfortable car 😉
🇸🇳 Dakar snapshots. Our best tips if you’r 🇸🇳 Dakar snapshots. Our best tips if you’re traveling to Dakar, Senegal:

✈️ The airport is about 2 hours away from Dakar. Try to arrive early in the day to get a cab (although Dakar and Senegal in general are pretty safe)

📱 Get a SIM card at the airport (Orange, preferably). It’ll make your life so much easier. You’ll have WiFi at your hotel but rarely anywhere else. Tell them to load some data on your phone at the airport.

🚕 @yango.senegal is the BEST way to get around. There’s no Bolt/Uber in Senegal.

🏨 We stayed at @hotelboma_dakar and the service was wonderful! It’s a small boutique hotel but has a pool and is in the heart of Dakar.

🥘 We loved The India Gate but there are also some great taco places in Dakar. Lagon II is great for seafood lovers.

Here’s what we did on our first full day in Sene Here’s what we did on our first full day in Senegal. We’re big fans of slow travel and returning from trips refreshed (not exhausted) so we tend to have slower days and stay-indoors days when we travel! Day 3 was a stay-indoors one so the next update will be Day 4 😊
